Knaves Hill tree planting

Local residents around the Knaves Hill area of Linslade came together yesterday thanks to Friends of the Earth to plant trees on land owned by South Beds District Council.

The trees, paid for by SBDC, were planted along the railway fence and will in time make the area better looking and help reduce the sound coming from passing trains.

I was invited to help at the planting and remembered how much hard work goes in to digging holes but the results will be worth it.

It would be great if more people could do this (get permission from the land owner first!) and if they would like to and want help acquiring the trees and Council support please let me know.

I have been heavily involved with a scheme in my ward for residents which will be completed soon and plans will be shown to residents early in the new year.

Please don't just sit by and be unhappy about the land around you, talk to me and your neighbours and we can improve it.
